BUSINESS
MANAGER MESSAGE William Hayden
Training, Training, Training. This is what I have heard at the bargaining table every time. This
year the Local and the Apprenticeship joined forces to offer good training classes for all members. These classes are an absolute
must if we are to continue to be able to bargain for more money and benefits. Every one of our Contractors has said the same
thing when it comes to training and raises. For the good of the Local, the good of your fellow members, and the good of your
next raise. We need every member to take a class to show we are serious about being better than the non-union. If we take
the time to upgrade ourselves the reward is more work for our Contractors, which will mean more money for paychecks. We cannot
simply think that hard work is good enough to wan a good raise. We compete with non-union shops that don’t pay benefits.
The only way to offset their advantage is education. Take a class and be better tomorrow than you are today. Let us take this
Local proudly into the future.
Fraternally, your Business Manager
